The Optics: Awarded by the BBC’s Sky At Night Magazine, the Sky-Watcher 200P Newtonian telescope optics are an excellent choice for the aspiring and experienced astronomer, but are equally suitable for the very interested beginner. With its large 200mm aperture and superb parabolic mirror, even fainter objects can be observed with its high power. This telescope is a powerful all-rounder for observing the moon, planets, nebulae, star clusters, double stars and much more. The mount: The very stable Sky-Watcher EQ5 equatorial mount offers excellent precision and stability and also provides the experienced astronomer with many useful functions. The mount rests on a large, adjustable tripod with stainless steel legs and tray for accessories. It is equipped with a spirit level for leveling and a pole height adjustment with a micrometer scale as well as an azimuth adjustment for pole adjustment. Furthermore, it has engraved graduated circles and control buttons for manual tracking. A polar finder scope is available as an option for precise alignment with the celestial pole. The mount can also optionally be retrofitted with a tracking in RA or both axes and a SynScan GoTo control.
