The Baader methane band filter is with all observation objects
(specifically planets) only for use with webcams and CCD cameras
applicable. Visual observations are not possible because the eye in
is no longer sensitive to this spectral range.
Prerequisites for a successful use of the filter are:
IR sensitive astro CCD camera and at least 5″ aperture
IR-sensitive webcam and at least 8″ aperture
