The Sky-Watcher HEQ5 Pro SynScan™ was also developed with the beginner in astronomy in mind. With the user-friendly push-button hand control, finding and observing objects in the sky becomes as easy as a walk in the park. The hand control allows the telescope to be aimed at the desired object or simply to start a guided tour of the night sky with the push of just one button. The user-friendly menu contains a database with over 42,000 objects of the night sky. Even an inexperienced beginner can learn the diverse functions of the system in just a few observation nights. However, the HEQ5 SynScan™ mount also contains many functions for the experienced amateur astronomer. The positioning accuracy is up to 1 arc minute. Accuracy is improved by calibrating the software for mechanical errors. The stepper motors have a step angle of 1.8° with 64 microsteps. The maximum movement speed is 3.4° per second (800X). The mount includes an auto guiding interface for astrophotography. The guiding speed can be set to 0.25x, 0.50x, 0.75x and 1x. The GoTo positioning database contains all objects from the Messier, NGC and IC catalogues.
