The SkyPortal WLAN module enables wireless control of almost any Celestron GOTO telescope with the optionally available iPhone/iPad app “SkyPortal”. In this app (a complete planetarium program) you can tap on an observing target on the star map or in a list and the telescope will automatically go to it. The telescope can also be operated without a hand controller, even alignment is possible via SkyPortal! You can also address your SkyQ adapter with the new Celestron SkyPortal software. SkyPortal is a full-fledged planetarium program: hold your smartphone up to the sky and you will see which objects you have set on the map; or search for an object and you will be directed there. After SkyPortal has connected to your telescope via the WiFi module and the alignment has been carried out, you can conveniently control it via your smartphone as usual. The software is based on SkySafari and is available free of charge for iOS (in the App Store) and Android (in the Play Store). Also the versions of SkySafari 4.x and higher with telescope control now support the SkyPortal Adapter.
