The SkyPortal WLAN module enables wireless control
almost every Celestron GOTO telescope with the optionally available
iPhone/iPad app “SkyPortal”. In this app (a full
planetarium program) you can set an observation target on the
Tap star map or in a list and the telescope will drive it
automatically on. The telescope can also be operated without a hand controller
operate, even the alignment is possible via SkyPortal!
With the new Celestron SkyPortal software you can use your SkyQ
Address the adapter as well.
SkyPortal is a full-fledged planetarium program: hold your
SmartPhone in the sky and you can see on the map what objects
you have hired; or search for an object and you
are directed there.
After SkyPortal connects to your telescope via the WiFi module
connected and aligned, you can too
conveniently controlled via your smartphone as usual.
The software is based on SkySafari and is free for iOS (in the app
Store) and Android (in the Play Store). Also the versions of
SkySafari 4.x and later with telescope controls now support the
Sky Portal Adapter.
Compatible with the following Celestron mounts:
Advanced VX, CG-5 (with CG-5 Aux. splitter), CGX, CGX-L, CPC, CPC DX,
CGE, CGE Pro, CGEM, CGEM DX, CGEM II, LCM, NexStar GT (models from 2015
with aux. splitter, item 93919), NexStar SE Series, NexStar SLT,
SkyProdigy.
SkyPortal is not compatible with older mounts such as
NexStar i and NexStar GPS
