The Skywatcher EQM-35 PRO SynScan modular equatorial mount offers the versatility of two mounts in one! An equatorial GoTo mount and a light photo-suitable travel mount. In standard mode with Dec and RA axes, you can use the mount as a regular equatorial, Synscan™ computer controlled GoTo mount. Tracking in both axes and with access to 42,900 objects from the Synscan™ database. Payload capacity for visual use is an impressive 10kg in this configuration. When traveling, you can remove the DEC axis along with the heavy counterweight rod and counterweights, significantly reducing the weight of the mount. In this configuration you can use a simple 45mm dovetail plate with tripod screw (not included) and mount your camera directly with a ball head (not included). Alternatively, a DSLR can be mounted on a Skywatcher Star Adventurer L-rail (not included). With the Dec axis removed, only the RA axis tracks and you can take photos with ease. Now the mount works similar to the Star Adventurer, only the payload is higher! The mount head is similar to the EQ3 PRO, but is much more precise and has a larger scope of performance. For example, the mount is equipped with a large 92.5mm diameter RA worm gear with 180 teeth for highly accurate tracking (compared to the EQ3’s 130 teeth). The strength of the mount pad has also been increased. The result is much greater stability, higher payload capacity and less vibration. The EQM-35 PRO SynScan is a practical mount with impressive features that is suitable for both beginners and experienced astronomers for both visual observation and astrophotography.
