The telescope mount: The Skywatcher AZ-EQ6GT is an exciting, evolutionary development of the very successful NEQ6 Pro telescope mount. The AZ-EQ6GT is a dual-mode, fully computer-controlled, heavy-duty GoTo mount for azimuthal and equatorial astronomy. It includes a SynScan hand control box with special AZ/EQ firmware and can automatically search and track over 42,900 celestial objects from its database. In equatorial mode, the AZ-EQ6GT can be used for visual observation as well as precise astrophotography. In azimuthal mode, it is primarily intended for visual observation, but can track 2 telescopes at the same time. A great innovation is the patented double encoder technology of the AZ-EQ6GT. It allows the telescope to be manually moved freely in both axes without losing the position data.
